Terms of Use

Last updated: July 21, 2026

Stedley is currently operated by Jeremy, an individual based in Indiana, United States. These terms may be updated if Stedley is transferred to a business entity before commercial launch. These Terms of Use apply to the Stedley marketing website, beta signup process, web application, and mobile application. By accessing or using Stedley, you agree to these terms.

1. Private beta status

Stedley is currently offered as a private beta. Features may change, be incomplete, or contain errors, and access may be limited, paused, or discontinued during the beta. Feedback is welcome and appreciated, but providing feedback does not create any ownership rights in Stedley. Because Stedley is beta software, you should not rely on it as the only copy of business records that are critical to you.

2. Eligibility and accounts

Stedley is intended for business users and people operating trades or service businesses. To use Stedley you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • provide accurate account information
  • safeguard your login credentials
  • take responsibility for activity under your account
  • report suspected unauthorized access promptly
  • not impersonate another person or business

3. Permitted use

You may use Stedley to manage your own trade or service business workflows, including jobs, clients, estimates, invoices, scheduling, time records, photos, receipts, expenses, and related records.

You may not:

  • use Stedley unlawfully
  • interfere with or disrupt the service
  • attempt unauthorized access
  • upload malicious code
  • scrape or copy the service at scale
  • use Stedley to violate another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights
  • use the service to send spam or deceptive communications
  • resell or sublicense beta access without permission

4. User content and business records

You retain ownership of the information and files you enter or upload. You grant Stedley a limited permission to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service.

You are responsible for having the right to upload the customer, worker, subcontractor, photo, receipt, and document information you add, and for the accuracy and legality of your own records. Please keep independent copies of business-critical records during the beta.

5. Estimates, invoices, records, and business decisions

Stedley is an organizational and workflow tool. It is not accounting, tax, payroll, legal, banking, insurance, or financial-advisory software.

Estimates, invoices, expense records, time calculations, estimated gross pay, reports, and exports should be reviewed by you before you rely on them. You remain responsible for pricing, contracts, taxes, payroll, employment obligations, accounting decisions, legal compliance, and customer communications. Stedley does not guarantee that generated records satisfy every law, regulation, contract, accountant, or tax authority.

6. Beta accounts and data continuity

The current intention is for beta users to retain the same account and credentials at launch, and for their records to remain available rather than being intentionally reset. Beta development may require corrections, migrations, schema changes, or maintenance, and Stedley cannot guarantee that no data will ever be altered, delayed, corrupted, or lost. Please maintain backups or exported copies of critical records.

7. Service availability and changes

Stedley may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue features. Maintenance, outages, provider failures, security incidents, or development work may affect availability. Reasonable efforts may be made to communicate material changes, but uninterrupted service is not guaranteed. Beta access may be removed for misuse, security concerns, or violations of these terms.

8. Intellectual property

Stedley's software, design, branding, text, and original materials belong to the operator or applicable licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use Stedley for its intended purpose during the beta. These terms do not transfer ownership of Stedley to you. Content you own remains addressed under "User content and business records" above.

9. Third-party services

Stedley relies on third-party providers, including:

  • Vercel for website hosting
  • Supabase for authentication, database, and storage
  • Formspree for beta-form processing

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy practices. Stedley is not responsible for outages or changes caused solely by those providers.

10. Disclaimers

Stedley is provided "as is" and "as available" during the beta. To the extent permitted by law, no warranties are made regarding uninterrupted operation, error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or suitability for a specific trade, legal requirement, tax treatment, or accounting practice. Some jurisdictions may not allow certain warranty exclusions, so those exclusions apply only to the extent legally permitted.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use Stedley. This may include lost profits, lost business opportunities, or loss of data. These limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law and do not attempt to exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Ending use or access

You may stop using Stedley at any time, and you may request account or data deletion by contacting Stedley. Stedley may suspend or terminate beta access for misuse, security concerns, legal requirements, or material violations of these terms. Some information may remain where reasonably necessary for backups, security, disputes, or legal obligations. Account deletion processes may be refined before commercial launch.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

14. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as Stedley develops, forms a business entity, changes providers, adds paid plans, or approaches commercial launch. The date at the top of this page will change when material revisions are published. Continued use after revised terms take effect may constitute acceptance where legally permitted; material commercial changes may require clearer notice or affirmative acceptance later.
